English Mastiff Funny | Are English Mastiffs Lazy

The English Mastiff can be funny. Are the English Mastiffs lazy? The answers can be numerous and relative depending on who you ask.

The English Mastiff is on of the oldest and largest breeds in existence. Many breeds originated from the English Mastiff. They are frequently described as Gentle Giants and Massive Dogs with Massive feelings. This isn't to say they aren't good protectors, as English Mastiffs are loyal subjects to their owners and guardians of small children. They're massive size shouldn't deter you from getting one if you have small children - as they are very docile and know the limitations of small creatures...including small humans.

English Mastiffs appetites are as big as you can imagine. Their massive body weight and size demands high calories which means a big grocery bill and a big pooper scooper. If you're having trouble making ends meat and feeding your family as it is, then this breed is not for you.

English Mastiffs are big, but they're not athletic. In fact it is not recommended you intensely exercise them as they are prone to joint problems. Unlike the Basset hound, their bone density does not compliment their size. Also, Mastiffs are predisposed to Bloat and should not exercise before or after a big meal. English Mastiffs can develop many health issues and their short life expectancy correlates with this fact.

Many people are fascinated with this large breed, but never take into account the amount of maintenance in relation to food and medical expenses. These Beautiful creature should only be owned by a responsible owner who knows what they're getting themselves into. This doesn't mean the English Mastiff is bad choice. In fact we think it is one of the best family dogs on the planet. It's just too bad they're not on this earth long enough to enjoy all they have to offer.
