Sarcasm is defined as “cutting the flesh” or “tearing the flesh”. Sarcasm is “the use of bitter or wounding remarks.” When people use sarcasm to communicate, they tear away trust and destroys communication, relationships, and teams. Sarcasm creates conflict that later has to be resolved due to the feelings that sarcasm brings up for the person receiving it. The person being sarcastic usually feels superior to the person they are directing the sarcasm to. Sarcasm can become a game to see who can last through sarcastic remarks. This kind of talk proves nothing. Sarcasm is ineffective, and it wastes time.
