Royal Albatross ~ Ranger Theo Checks On Tiaki To Make Sure She Is Okay! 7.27.21

After Tiaki swallowed that large piece of fish/squid from LGK, she had a hard time with it and kept shaking her head. DOC ranger Theo came over to check on Tiaki - looking down her throat to make sure there was no obstruction and he massaged her throat. Sometimes the chicks are supplementary fed - the fish may stop part way down and it can be massaged down. Theo says that there was nothing to see but is keeping an eye on her. That meal will take quite a bit of digesting. Theo walks around and keeps an eye on Tiaki and also looks like he is searching for boluses and squid beaks. Thank you for watching!
