When You Turn Your WORRY into WORSHIP | God will turn your BATTLES INTO BLESSINGS!
God has called us to a greater purpose. We have received the mandate from God to go out into the world, to baptize and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19 NIV). To bring them into God's kingdom. But as Christians very often we face obstacles, attacks so to speak aimed at keeping us from doing what God has called us to be. These attacks are specially designed to keep you from doing what God has called you to do. The devil will design all sorts of traps and pitfalls to make sure that you don't reach the heights God has designed for you.
It is important to understand that this journey with God is not always an easy one. We are tried and tested but like Paul and Silas, we need to approach these trials with the knowledge that God can handle whatever we bring to him. But that's not the only important thing. In those times, the most important thing is that we worship God and spend our time with Him doing things that bring Him glory.
In today's video, we are going to be talking about worship, what it is, its application for spiritual warfare, and how we can worship in truth. Please leave us a like and hit the subscribe button for more videos on faith, worship, and Christian living.
Now back to the video.
Any discussion about worship has to start at the source. We have to ask the question, what is worship?
Worship is not a genre of Christian music. It is not a form of contemporary Christian music either. It isn't just singing. It isn't just praying. It isn't just using our words or our songs.
Worship is every single act done to give glory to God.
That is worship. It could be the act of prayer. It could be the act of working hard on the things God has mandated you to do. It could be taking care of God's people and creation, leading the people God has placed you over in the manner in which He intends. That is worship.
This means we can worship God even without the gift of music. All we have to do is live a life of worship the way God has called us to live.
Worship as a weapon.
Worship has the potential to shift the atmosphere. Worship's effectiveness comes from two primary reasons.
The first one is that it turns our attention to God and away from ourselves. Worship as a weapon is transformative. It redirects our perspective towards heaven helping us see and understand that God's plan for us is better than anything we could have asked for. This shift in perspective helps us keep our journey in focus, fills us with courage, and hones our connection with the Holy Spirit.
Worship as a weapon keeps us away from the traps of focusing on just ourselves. We avoid selfishness, pride, and greed when we approach God in true worship. Early Christians and men of God understood that. David worshipped God in humility and truth, even as a king he understood what worship to God meant.
For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. Psalms 149:4 NIV
It's a weapon that works by strengthening us first and foremost.
The second reason worship works great as a weapon is that it gives us the means to defy the devil, his plans, and his influences. The devil knows what great power our acts of worship have. It appeals to God to help us, it focuses on God and not us, and finally, it shows that we trust God's power and majesty beyond the supposed power of any other person. And this terrifies the devil. The realization that a life of worship creates distance between us and the devil and draws us closer to God.
We don't overcome the battles of this world by becoming more like the world. We overcome the world by being more like Christ annd worship helps us do that.
Worship is not doing nothing. It is easy to do nothing. It is easy to decide that the world wins. That's called giving up. Worship isn't giving up. Worship is being aware of the fact that God is the one we rely on to fight our battles.
In worship we allow God's power to flow through us. We allow Him to guide us to win souls. We allow Him to guide us to help people and serve Him in ways that are a blessing to those people around us.
Throughout the Bible, we see stories and testimonies of God's people being led into battle, not with weapons but with faith and worship. One of such stories is that of the people of Israel as they prepared to March on the city of Jericho. God himself gave the people the battle plan. March around the city for seven days and seven nights and on the seventh day, blast trumpets and shout to the Lord. That sounds counterintuitive but it's only possible with God. The act of worship breaks conventional norms. When the world calls for pride, anger, and humanly action we are called to pray. Where the world would respond with violence, we respond with worship.
