However, Uttar Pradesh state minister Upendra Tiwari said '95 per cent of Indians do not need petrol at all and only a handful use four-wheelers'. Fuel prices continued to surge to record high levels on Friday for the third straight day. Meanwhile, a shortage of fertilisers like Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) has hit farmers across Madhya Pradesh.
