U.S. Health insurance is prohibitive and leads to both medical bankruptcy and negative health outcomes for so many people. I’m a family nurse practitioner trained to provide primary care, but I cannot afford healthcare insurance for my family and neither can many of my patients. And I don't think that's okay.
In this first video of my U.S. Health Insurance Deep Dive series, I take a look at what steps led to private insurance running the industry and how healthcare became a for-profit business that uses fear tactics and lies to convince the public that the system is perfect just the way it is.
