Prime Minister Scott Morrison has pledged to revitalise the “really important” Australian manufacturing industry.
Mr Morrison said his government would be making more announcements regarding the sector “in the next couple of weeks”.
“Making sure we continue to make things here in Australia is really important,” Mr Morrison said.
He noted that one in eight manufacturing jobs were lost under the Labor Party when they were last in government, and said his government had more people working in manufacturing than when they won government in 2013.
“We make things here in Australia, and we’re really good at it - and we’re going to make a lot more things under my government here in Australia,” Mr Morrison said.
