Communist lawmakers in a region parliament in the far east of Russia called on President Vladimir Putin on Friday to stop the war in Ukraine in a phenomenal political protest within Russia's political system.
Leonid Vasyukevich told parliament of the far East Primorsky Krai region that the group demanded that Russian soldiers "withdraw immediately".
According to reports from a local media organization, his statement led to a commission in parliament. He was tried to yell at himself and stop talking, and his microphone was turned off.
The district governor also tried to interrupt the conversation and accused him and another deputy of "insulting the Russian army" by demanding his dismissal from parliament.
