After bagging a historic mandate in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress party high command is now preparing an algorithm to select the chief minister. The party observers Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Bhupesh Baghel and state in-charge Rajiv Shukla are meeting the party MLAs to announce the chief minister.
HPCC chief Pratibha Singh, Nadaun MLA Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Haroli MLA Mukesh Agnihotri are top Contenders for CMs post .While both Pratibha Singh and Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu belong to the dominating Rajput communities, Mukesh Agnihotri is a Brahmin. So far, Shanta Kumar has been the only Brahmin who remained a chief minister twice.
