Engelberg is located 25 kilometers south of Lake Lucerne in a wide high valley at around 1,000 meters above sea level. The surrounding mountains are dominated by the 3,239 meter high glacier and local mountain Titlis and the 2,600 meter high Hahnen. They guarantee snow in winter until well into spring. Voted among the top 10 ski areas in Switzerland, Engelberg is also known for its varied ski and freeride area.
