Mohammad Hafeez discloses he advised Shoaib Malik to retire with him

Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez has revealed that he had suggested to Shoaib Malik that the veteran all-rounder should also retire with him. Terming Malik a friend and a brother, Hafeez added that he told the former he wouldn’t get the respect he deserves.

Hafeez, 41, announced his retirement from international cricket at the start of the year. While Malik has quit Tests and ODI, he was hopeful of making a comeback for the T20 World Cup 2022. The selectors, however, did not pick him in the 15-member squad announced recently.
