For the days when you feel burnt out.
We’ve all experienced it before; those dreadful set deadlines and self made deadlines that seem to be set in stone but you’ve no energy to meet them. Yet, you don’t do anything; you can’t do anything. It’s been a long day, and work after work after homework after homework, you’ve done so much but the workload just doesn’t seem to decrease at all!
You stare into space; a blank piece of paper stares back at you. The cursor blinks at you.
The longer you wait, the faster the clock seems to slowly tick and tock, as if the day has gone by much too fast but at the same time it feels like it will never end. Papers continue to pile.
There’s just so much to do. Your brain already feels like it’s been through the gates of the underworld, now you doubt you can do anything. You consider taking a rest, but that only means more time will be wasted.
Even if you tried to finish everything up before the day ends, you doubt the quality would be good; so why even bother working on whatever you need to be working on?
Oh right; those dreadful deadlines. Why did you agree to them in the first place? (Well, you could’ve been forced.)
It could’ve been a productive day, but it hasn’t been; maybe you spent too much time blanking out. Now you’re behind on everything!
You scold yourself, you feel disappointed, tired, your brain is fried, you feel sleep in your eyes and your motivation continues to nowhere be seen.
We’ve all experienced it. To be very honest I’m experiencing it right now as I write this description (i deleted all the keyboard smashes). Even though there are deadlines to meet, and although they are very important, if you aren’t feeling top tier how can you expect your work to be?
Give yourself a break. Taking care of yourself is noticing the signals your body sends, asking you to take a rest. Just 5 minutes can make you feel so much better and motivated so that you can power on through the rest of the day. Drink water, look outside, have a snack, exercise, and sleep. Let your mind have a rest too. Realize that given your situation, you have done well; you’ve done your best and beyond; you’re doing a great job; why are putting yourself down when you’ve done your best in that given situation?
For the days when your motivation is at zero, your productivity is low but the expectations are already set high, and you feel burnt out. This subliminal aims to ease your mind and remind you that it’s okay to feel burnt out, you’ve done your best in your current situation, and that even if you feel you don’t deserve it, it’s okay to take a break. It’ll also freshen your body and mind to prepare you for more work if you have any, and set your motivation and productivity high. Don’t forget to take a break today.
